I think that the ALSC's positioning on the election of the
At-Large Directors will not be able to stand in the
long-term...But it would be unfair for us to let the world
internet community wait longer than it has to.

We do need to get organised for making our voices heard in
ICANN and in other global fora as netizens. I get the
impression that many contributors have experience in
lobbying, advocacy and networking. It will help greatly if
we can get over this first hurdle and push the 'minimum
agenda' which in my view is garnering the political and
financial resources to go to elections...as DOT-COMMERS!!

As I recall the question of 'elections' was where the
discussion started. When we have our nine representatives
on the board it will be a good beginning for most of us. If
we lose this first battle, it will not be the end of the
world, but it will be annoying and mean considering the
'alternative' ICANN.
