Their rationale was to divide the Board among users (you and me),
developers (IANA, IEEE, etc.), and producers (VeriSign, etc.). But as
anyone can see, most of those developers would be in tune with their
employers, the producers, so it would unbalance the Board. I dearly love
mozilla*, but AOL/TW/Netscape doesn't need its fingers in every piece of
the pie.

* http://mozilla.org - Mozilla is important because, like XFree86 for X
Window System, it is the main driving force in open standardization in
browsing technologies. Having said that, I think I should go fiddle with
IE6 and see how it works on mozilla's test CSS2 and XML pages...
