Reify is akin to Idol worship.  I am mulling whether it is right here.
Materialism I understand in this context but whoa, reification.

With that said I think you may have a good point that only real people
should
be able to vote on such issues.
And holding people to their word is always a very good place to start.

Why is this a "straw" poll anyhow?  It seems like a public Internet
showing of
hands to me.  And I note it is unanimous for participants to date.
