Esther,
I can say it in other words (and coming from Europe this may sound a little 
bit absurd).
I have no problems voting for certain Americans to become members of the board.
However, I have doubts voting for certain Europeans, let's say who are in 
favour of controlling Internet content and licensing Internet services and 
service providers.
That doesn't mean I am pro or contra elections, based on regional origin. 
Of course, it will be good to have different regions represented, but even 
within the continents there are quite a lot of differences - see Eastern vs 
Central vs Western Europe. Or South America vs North America, or even 
within NA - Mexico vs US.

So, let's try to vote for personalities, not for faces.
