For all the hoopla over public on list voting it sure is great to see
helpful comments and the outpouring of votes for nine seats through the
AL.

Now that that is settled and continuing contributions are made may I ask
if we have the same consensus on the issue of Individuals. Just as with
the Nine seats it matters not for these purposes what the final outcome
is but more importantly that we establish a record.

I am not technically savvy enough to guarantee that we can do it but
persons far more able than I assure me that we can handle an election on
line for all individuals who would participate. It is clear that
multi-tier types of authentication can handle verification. Based upon
an extrapolation from attorneys fees paid out to Jones and Day and our
in house legal, we clearly have the funds to conduct a proper election.
I am informed and believe that International groups that would love to
see a valid online international voting mechanism work that we can
achieve independent assistance for validation and process.

The issue of requiring a domain name registration as a requirement for
vote is quagmired in the hell of an issue of inclusive roots and non
participating ccTLD registrations. I think we all know this is a silly
road to run down. Shame on the committee for even implying it much less
requiring it.

So the question is not should the AL voting include individuals.

The question boils down to "Must the AL include individual users?"

The obvious answer is YES.

Sincerely,
Eric
